TTArtisan’s New 10mm f/2 APS-C Lens is Ultra-Wide and Costs Just $160

TTArtisan released the 10mm f/2 ASPH. lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras.

The Chinese lens maker has been busy of late, announcing a special edition yellow version of its 27mm f/2.8 APS-C prime lens and unveiling the 56mm f/1.8 portrait lens for crop sensors earlier this month.

The new 10mm f/2, which offers a 15mm equivalent focal length on most APS-C cameras, sports a full-metal body, a bright f/2 aperture, promises “nearly zero” distortion, and is available for E, Z, Z, RF, and Micro Four Thirds lens mounts. Notably, on a Micro Four Thirds camera, the 10mm f/2 lens will be equivalent to a 20mm prime thanks to the more significant two times crop factor. Perhaps the most impressive feature of the new ultra-wide lens is not a feature at all, but its affordable $159 price tag.

The lens has been designed for night sky, landscape, architecture, and environmental portrait photography. Unlike some similarly wide lenses, the TTArtisan 10mm f/2 accepts front filters via a specialized 72mm filter holder. This is wider than the lens’ typical diameter, so users who don’t need filters can remove the holder and use a narrower lens cap on the lens.

The manual lens can focus as close as 0.25 meters (0.82 feet) and includes a detailed focus scale on the lens barrel. The lens also has a manual clicked aperture ring and an eight-bladed aperture diaphragm. The aperture ranges from f/2 to f/16.

In total, the lens includes 13 lens elements organized across 10 groups. There are a pair of high-refractive-index elements and two aspherical glass elements. TTArtisan promises sharp performance and high image quality for photo and video applications.
