Two people were trapped after a semi-trailer truck and two cars collided at an intersection in Sydney’s southwest.
Police were called to the Great Western Hwy and Jersey Rd intersection in Wentworthville after the crash occurred about 11.30pm on Monday.
A 24-year-old man, who was a passenger in a Toyota hatch involved in the crash, was trapped for a significant amount of time before being freed by Fire and Rescue NSW.

He was rushed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
A 21-year-old woman driving the Toyota was also trapped following the collision, but was rescued a short time later and taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
A person driving a Hyundai hatch involved in the crash and the 43-year-old truck driver were both uninjured.
The Crash Investigation Unit is investigating and a crime scene has been established.
The Great Western Hwy was closed for both eastbound and westbound traffic between Centenary Rd and Cumberland Hwy, however all lanes reopened on Tuesday morning.
