Uniqlo will soon have a second address in Italy. After opening a first Italian store in 2019 in Milan, at 1,500 square-metre premises in Piazza Cordusio, the fashion retailer owned by Japanese group Fast Retailing will open a second flagship in the country, in Rome, in spring 2024.

The Uniqlo store will open in the north-western corner of the Galleria Alberto Sordi in via del Corso, Rome

Uniqlo’s Rome store will be located in Galleria Alberto Sordi, at via del Corso 197, one of the main shopping streets in Rome’s city centre. The store, with a retail area of over 1,300 square metres across three floors, will showcase the brand’s womenswear, menswear and childrenswear lines.

“It is an honour for us to open in a city with such significant cultural heritage, and to augment our presence on the Italian market with a store in Galleria Alberto Sordi, one of the capital’s most iconic commercial destinations, opened to the public for the first time 100 years ago,” said Mark Barnatovic, COO of Uniqlo Italy. “We can’t wait for our customers to discover our LifeWear products, inspired by the Japanese values of quality, simplicity and durability, helping improve people’s daily lives,” he added.

In Q3, the Fast Retailing group reported an operating income in excess of JPY102 billion (approximately €665 million), equivalent to a 25% increase over the same period the previous year.
