Electronic Arts has started rolling out a new 6.0.0 update for Battlefield 2042 game. This is a major update and as expected brings a host of new features, changes, characters, maps and modes including the Season 6: Dark Creations.

“Redacted” is a new map in the Battlefield franchise, inspired by fan-favorite maps like Operation Locker and Operation Metro. It is set in the Scottish Hebrides, taking place in an underground, subterranean tech-research facility. Unlike other Battlefield maps, there is no outdoor environment, requiring players to navigate tight corridors and elevated areas. The facility is full of secrets, but players must stay alert to avoid enemy ambushes.
The map is divided into several areas, including the Boreas Laboratory, where forbidden research occurs. It features close to mid-distance combat with large 3D printers providing cover. The Field Testing area has small houses and eerie lighting, offering opportunities for flanking. In the Stress Testing area, the map opens up to long-range combat, making players vulnerable to snipers. Maintenance tunnels provide flanking routes away from the main combat areas.
The update introduces three new weapons: G428, a DMR with exceptional accuracy and penetration power; L9CZ, a highly accurate sidearm for close quarters combat; and VHX D3, a futuristic assault rifle for close and medium-range engagements. Two new gadgets, Ammo and medical Pouches, allow players to support their squad by replenishing ammo or health.
A new vehicle, the YUV-2 “Pondhawk,” is a dynamic two-person transport with flight capabilities, enabling players to quickly support and rush objectives.
The update includes a new Battle Pass, Season 6: Dark Creations, offering over 100 tiers of rewards. Gameplay-affecting items, such as weapons, vehicles, and gadgets, can be earned without purchasing the Premium version of the Battle Pass. Additionally, a Battle Pass Ultimate Pack is introduced, providing faster tier progression and exclusive skins.
