Janmashtami festival will be celebrated with religious fervour on Monday, August 26, and it’s shaping up to be an extended break for those with Saturday offs, be it students or employees. School doors will be closed starting from August 23, interestingly not for the holiday but due to the scheduled UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam that extends until the end of the month, August 31.
UP School Holidays: Police Constable Recruitment Exam 2024
In Uttar Pradesh, the Police Recruitment Exam for 60,244 constable roles has attracted an overwhelming response, with over 4.6 million applicants. To facilitate the recruitment test, they’ve set up 1,174 examination centers, which has led to 81 schools in Lucknow being temporarily closed to serve this purpose. The exam procedure is split into two daily shifts—10 AM to 12 PM and 3 PM to 5 PM—to accommodate the large number of applicants.
