Indian-origin, Swiss industrialist and billionaire Pankaj Oswal’s daughter was imprisoned in Uganda on October 1. Pankaj alleged that his daughter, Vasundhara Oswal, was unlawfully detained. Vasundhara was reportedly arrested by 20 armed men, believed to be law enforcement officials, from the extra-neutral alcohol plant in Uganda, which belongs to the family.

Vasundhara’s mother is Radhika Oswal, and Vasundhara is fully involved in the family business. Pankaj has two daughters and purchased a luxurious mansion worth Rs 1,649 crore in Switzerland for them. The villa, named ‘Villa Vari,’ is located in Gingins and offers all the comforts surrounded by scenic beauty. The Oswal couple had initially planned to build a Taj Mahal-inspired home before deciding to purchase the villa.
The Oswal couple had to flee Australia after allegedly facing charges of tax evasion and violating building construction norms. They were also facing fraud charges amounting to Rs 768 crore.
