Veterans honored throughout the Bay Area

In San Jose the United Veterans Council of Santa Clara County held the city’s annual Veterans Day Parade. The parade, considered to be the largest in Northern California honored veterans as it has every since 1918.

The parade included various military and civilian vehicles, from vintage cars to even a few tanks and members of the Keep the Spirit of ’45 Alive all making their way down Santa Clara Street.

In Danville, the Veterans Memorial Building of San Ramon Valley hosted an open house. Astronaut James “Ox” van Hoften met with visitors and shared some of his experiences from 338 hours in space. “Food was a big game in orbit,” van Hoften said.
