Ahmedabad: It was a tense night for Royal Challengers Bengaluru who lost against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday in the Eliminator in Ahmedabad and were knocked out of IPL 2024. The match got tense as it boiled down to the wire and a clip is now going viral which shows Virat Kohli giving a piece of his mind to Yash Dayal. Kohli gave Dayal a mouthful from near the boundary line.
Ace commentator Harsha Bhogle spotted it and commented: “Yesterday, I witnessed Virat Kohli abusing Yash Dayal during the final overs. It was very pathetic behavior by him. There is a reason why all youngsters prefer MS Dhoni over Kohli. He should learn from MSD how to treat youngsters.”

Kohli, who is the Orange Cap holder, amassed 741 runs in 15 matches in IPL 2024. This is Kohli’s second-best season with the bat after 2016. Kohli is also the only player to have played for the same team across all 17 editions of the IPL.
“Our performance in the first half of the season was really under par for us. We were not living up to the standards that we have as cricketers. And then we just started expressing ourselves, started playing for our own self-respect, and then the confidence came back.” Kohli said after the loss.
Kohli also expressed a special feeling about how they turned the matches around. He said, “The way we turned things around and qualified was truly special. It is something that I will always cherish and remember because it took a lot of character and heart from each member of the team, something that we can really be proud of.”
