Volvo Cars India recently commenced the deliveries of its C40 Recharge electric SUV. The company launched the Volvo C40 Recharge e SUV on September 4, 2023, at an introductory price of Rs 61.25 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the second electric car from the manufacturer, as the first locally-assembled XC4o Recharge electric SUV was introduced in July 2022.
Volvo C40 Recharge: Exterior
In terms of exterior, the Volvo C40 Recharge receives headlamps with Thor’s Hammer-shaped LED DRLs, a redesigned tailgate, new reverse lights and dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels. The LEDs over the tailgate and plastic cladding on the sides enhance the Volvo C40 Recharge look.
Volvo C40 Recharge: Features
The recently launched Volvo C40 Recharge gets a vertically-stacked 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, sleeker-looking AC vents, a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster, heated/ventilated powered front seats with driver-side memory function, ADAS features, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, a 360-degree camera, and more. Other key interior features include a dual-zone climate control system, a Harmon Kardon sound system and connected car technology.

Volvo C40 Recharge: Battery and range
Built on the CMA platform (Compact Modular Architecture), the Volvo C40 Recharge uses a 78kWh battery with a dual-motor set-up, offering a WLTP-certified range of 530 km on a single charge and ICAT-certified range of 683 km. The dual electric motors produce a combined power output of 408 hp and 660 Nm torque. Using a 150 kW DC charger, the battery can be charged from 0-100 percent within half an hour. The Volvo C40 Recharge accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 4.7 seconds, claims Volvo.

In the Indian market, the Volvo C40 Recharge rivals the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
