Watch: Maruti Jimny tastefully modified into Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, call it J-Wagen!

Launched a few months back, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny is the most affordable 4×4 lifestyle SUV in the Indian market. The Jimny is fairly popular across the globe, and its boxy yet clean appearance has evoked modifiers to play around with the design, adding custom kits, bigger wheels, mechanical upgrades and what not. The boxy design of the Maruti Jimny also enables comparisons with the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, popularly known as G-Wagen, as far as the styling is concerned.
Suzuki Jimny to Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen conversion kits have already been pretty popular abroad, however, have so far been limited to the three-door version of the small off-roader. It was about time that a similar kit was introduced for the India-spec five-door Jimny. Delhi-based modifier AutoMarc along with Auto Stylenn Accessories have together converted a Maruti Suzuki Jimny five-door into a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen lookalike!

The attention to detail is truly mind-blowing on the project, with the LED headlights, bumpers, bonnet, wheel arches, chrome grille – all having been inspired from the G-Class. Just like the Mercedes-AMG G 63, the side exhausts have also been included on this Jimny, along with chrome alloy wheels with the Brabus ‘B’ emblem and even the old-school turn indicators placed on the bonnet.
Despite the uncanny similarity in the appearance, it is still pretty easy for any enthusiast to tell that it is indeed a Maruti Suzuki Jimny under the skin, not a Mercedes-Benz G-Class. However, the tasteful conversion is a well-finished job, and truly makes the Jimny stand out. Hence, we would like to call it the J-Wagen!
