Nothing better than a fall wedding in New York City. I recently went to my friends’ Jessie [Heyman] and Joel’s wedding and paired a jewel-toned Erdem dress with matching Manolo Hangisi flats which allowed me to walk from the wedding to the after party.

I’m attending a wedding in New Mexico at the end of the month—there’s no strict dress code, but it’s taking place at a hotel so I’m opting for a sequin skirt set and low-heeled sandals for easy polish. A simple black clutch looks great here—and I’ll be packing sheer tights just in case it’s too cold outside for bare legs.

There are few things that get me out of the house when the temperature drops below 70 degrees. However, the hopeless romantic in me is not one to say no to a wedding! Following the “KISS” principle (keep it simple, stupid) that I learned back in a photojournalism class, this fall, I’m opting for a minimal black structured silhouette and jazzing the look up with subtle yet charming detailing, like the jeweled straps decorating classic nappa leather sandals by The Row, the mixing of metals courtesy of Jenny Bird, and mismatched yet shapely hardware adorning a Jacquemus clutch.

Florals for spring? Not groundbreaking. Florals for fall? Very much so! This Markarian dress, with its moody blooms and black trim, is my go-to for weddings from Los Angeles to upstate New York this season.

I’m not one to shy away from a fun print during wedding season, especially during the fall when the weather can be especially unpredictable. Forecast gray and rainy? De La Vali’s leopard-print maxi or Aje’s moody floral frock both bring the sunshine and require nothing more than a simple shoe and chic bag. Going for a monochromatic moment never fails, either. I love Pixie Market’s off-the-shoulder burgundy dress—its flattering silhouette suits any dress code and the cool color fits right in with any autumnal theme. Banana Republic’s satin LBD is another go-to. And the best part? They are all timeless picks, meant to be reworn.

Were I going to any autumn weddings (which I, mercifully, am not), I would go pedal to the metal on the drama. We’re talking dark, slightly gothic, maybe even a little witchy. I love this sexy Jacquemus dress with a shearling jacket from Yves Salomon, which can be removed when the dance floor starts to heat up. I wouldn’t keep it all black: these Gucci slingbacks would add a subtle pop of color—though chances are they’d also get kicked off when it’s time to hit the dance floor.

I don’t have any fall weddings coming up, so I am looking for versatile pieces I can wear to an evening event and switch up for day. I love the idea of this Toteme dress being styled with leather gloves and Bottega Veneta’s mini intrecciato is great for a cocktail event or on the weekend styled with the chain.

I’m entering the final stretch of my 2024 weddings and for the last few that I’m attending I’m leaning towards pieces I know I’ll reach for again next year. They’re all destination weddings but in complete opposite climates. I have one in London and you can’t go wrong with a classic black gown for a city wedding. The others are in warm locoales so I’m using those as an excuse to wear something bold and colorful, like the two red gowns I have had my eye on over the summer.

I won’t be shy about it—I’m a good wedding guest. Passed trays of canapes, flutes of sparkling champagne, and live jazz arrangements bring out dreamy, romantic notions from within me. Maybe love is a celebration, maybe the small talk with the waitstaff is the funniest thing I will hear that night, maybe there’s drama with the bride’s sister! Life is rich! But I digress. I love this black fringe halter neck dress from Jonathan Simkhai (I also recently wore to Vogue World: Paris) with some black heeled sandals from Dolce Vita and metallic gold accessories. The best accessory—a film camera to capture it all for later.

I’m a first-time maid of honor to my best friend since high school for her October wedding—and she’s not like other bride, she’s a cool bride. For her bridal party, we’re tasked with picking our own dresses within a color palette of pinks and reds. I’m particularly obsessed with one dress in particular by Coperni, which just so happens to have an option in every color I could possibly need (and I adore the rosette details). In terms of accessories—no one does pearls quite as beautifully as Presley Oldham…and while we’re talking pearls, Cult Gaia has a clutch to make it a full look! Since I’m MOH, I’m sure I’ll be on my feet all day, at the ready—so you’ll find me in a kitten heel.

Leaning into autumnal shades for this fall season, I’ve found mixing brown and black to be so chic. This slinky dress is extremely flattering and easy to dance in, plus I’ll be pairing it with the world’s most comfortable heels (okay, self proclaimed), and some vintage-inspired jewelry. Topping it all off with a romantic spritz of Aerin Beauty’s new scent, Amber Musk Santal, I have a feeling multiple groomsmen will be trailing behind me to get another whiff.

I’m on my “pretty pretty princess” kick right now so I’ll be bopping around in one of Azeeza’s silky gowns with room to snack and sip all along the way. I carry Dior Addict Lip Glow on every wedding trip, and even wore it for my own vows, because it works to bring life back to lips and cheeks (in my opinion, that’s not suggested on the label)! Rothy’s carries my shoe size (a Paris Hilton tip!) and their ballerina wraps pack up super small which I appreciate. And I used to spray all of my clothes in Crystal Saffron (my signature scent!) before I left for trips but now that I have a smaller bottle I just bring it along and rake in the compliments.

Fall weddings mean warm tones and long silhouettes to me! I love this floral pattern from Ganni, and this drapey neckline from Line & Dot. These strappy two-tone sandals by The Row are perfect for any season—and to complete the look, I’m opting for a brown suede bag, like this Neous pick.

You can’t go wrong with a classic slip dress for a fall wedding, and I have been especially loving the minimalist silhouettes from St. Agni. This particular style offers endless possibilities in terms of accessories—like these statement-making Tory Burch earrings or Ben-Amun’s giant shell necklace—just switch out the jewelry and re-wear this look to all of your other events.

I have been told off many times (by my mother) for wearing black to weddings, but I cannot help it. I wouldn’t feel like myself in anything else! In the last couple of years, I have become a Tory Burch girl. When people ask me about what I am wearing, it gives me so much pleasure to say, “It’s Tory Burch!!” This tunic is honestly my go-to for anything even remotely formal—and I get teased for being an outfit repeater often. The last time I wore it to a wedding, the bride texted me 10 days later saying that she was still thinking about my outfit.
