What Car Defined Your Generation?

Perfect car, no notes.

We’re always talking about artists that define a generation. People like The Beatles, Nirvana and Taylor Swift have all been lauded as such, but can the same be true for cars? Is there a vehicle out there that defines your generation?

That’s what we’re on the lookout for today, the cars that you think perfectly encapsulate everything about your particular age group. So, what have you got? Maybe you’re a boomer that longs to feel the wind in their hair while cruising around in a Corvette, or you might be a youth that thinks a bike is a better way to travel around town than any car.

Personally, I’m a broke ’90s baby that spends too much on rent and fancy coffee, so for me it’s got to be something like the Citroën C1. That car, in either of its guises, was the car people got when they were learning to drive. It probably would never have caught on in America, but this little city car could do it all – take your friends to the drive through, get you to school on time and it rode so low to the ground that even the slowest speeds seemed rapid.

Under their new generations, I still know people driving Toyota Aygos and Citroën C1s around town and, heck, if I was back in the UK I’d probably have one too. It’s a great little city car that perfectly sums up motoring for broke millennials.

But that’s just my, and probably only my, pick for the car that best sums up people hovering around 30-years-old. What’s your pick for your generation? Let us know the car that you think best defines your generation in the comments section below and we’ll round up some of the top picks in a slideshow next week.
