Christian Pulisic on the state of USMNT: ‘The mentality is really good’
United States Men’s Soccer star Christian Pulisic chats about the team’s current mindset, as well as his partnership with Michelob Ultra centered around Copa America.
The 2024 Copa América marches on with two enticing games on Thursday, June 27. The United States will square off with Panama in Group C, while Uruguay and Bolivia will feature in the second match of the night.
The USMNT started the tournament off with a solid 2-0 win over Bolivia on Sunday, though fans were arguably hoping for a larger margin of victory. A clash with Panama, a familiar foe from Concacaf who fell 3-1 to Uruguay in its Copa América opener, will be a chance for Gregg Berhalter’s side to underline its credentials to go deep into the tournament as hosts.
Christian Pulisic scored a goal and added an assist for the U.S. in its opener, while defender Antonee Robinson also provided a standout performance as Bolivia created next to no offense.
Uruguay got off to a good start with a win and has suffered just one loss since influential manager Marcelo Bielsa took charge in June 2023. With stars like Inter Miami striker Luis Suárez and Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde in the fold, La Celeste will be favored against a Bolivia team that must very likely avoid defeat to keep its tournament hopes alive.
