The new feature resembles the YouTube Double Tap to forward/ rewind feature.
New Delhi: Meta-owned social messaging platform, WhatsApp, is working on a new feature, which would finally allow its users to seek videos using double tap. Sharing resemblance with YouTube’s double tap to seek feature, this upcoming feature would save time, skip through the unwanted parts of the video and jump right onto the main moments. Recently, WhatsApp also introduced AI features for its users, including photo editing, chatbots, etc.
Here are more details on the new WhatsApp Double Tap to Seek Video feature.
WhatsApp Double Tap To Seek Feature
WhatsApp recently announced the launch of a new feature that allows users to double-tap a video’s edge to fast-forward or reverse it, improving navigation and allowing users to skip less important parts. iOS users who have the most recent version of WhatsApp from the App Store installed will be able to enjoy features including the ability to forward and rewind videos, send video messages, and use an improved attachment tray.
Among other updates, WhatsApp has also released the feature to instantly record and send video messages in chats. While the feature has already been available for some time, users can now record video messages by long pressing the camera button next to the text field in a conversation to get started. WhatsApp also highlighted that all users could now explore the new design for the attachment tray, with the new WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.24.10.70 update.
WhatsApp AI Features
WhatsApp is introducing various AI features to enhance user experience. These new features include AI-powered chatbots, photo editing tools, and more. The upcoming features also include international UPI payments for AI features for editing photos, answering queries, and more.
Meta AI, a new assistant available on WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, and soon on Ray-Ban Meta, allows users to interact with it like a person. It offers new AI experiences, such as AI stickers, image editing tools like Restyle and Backdrop, and an assistant that spans across apps and devices. Users can engage with Meta AI and other characters on WhatsApp to ask questions, get recommendations, and create AI-generated images in chats.
These AI features aim to provide users with innovative ways to communicate, express themselves, and access real-time information within their chats.
