On his debate with Donald Trump, Biden said he would be more than happy to debate.
Joe Biden’s Tragic Loss: US President Joe Biden on Friday revealed that he once considered suicide after losing his first wife, Neila, and daughter, Naomi, in a car crash in Delaware in 1972.
This was reported by the Daily Mail.
Joe Biden, the 46th and current president of the United States since 2021, made public a part of his private life when he sat for a surprise interview with radio journalist Howard Stern on Stern’s SiriusXM show during his visit to New York on Friday, April 26.
Joe Biden the former vice president of the USA, stating that one does not have to be crazy to commit suicide, said, “I don’t drink, that’s not a virtue. I just never drank. And, I used to sit there and think to myself, I’m just gonna take out a bottle of scotch. We always had liquor in the house, and I was gonna just drink it and get drunk, and I can never bring myself to do it.
“You don’t have to be crazy to commit suicide if you’ve been to the top of the mountain and you think you’ll never be there again. For a brief moment I thought maybe I’ll just go to Delaware Memorial Bridge and just jump, but I had two kids,” said Biden.
Answering a question on his debate with his Republican rival Donald Trump, Biden said he would be more than happy to debate.
“I am, somewhere, I don’t know when, but I am happy to debate him,” he said.
He spent Thursday night in New York City after attending a fundraiser hosted by actor Michael Douglas in Westchester County.
Neilia Biden, the first wife of Joe Biden, was born on July 28, 1942, and died on December 18, 1972, in a car crash with their one-year-old daughter, Naomi.
Their two sons, Beau and Hunter, were critically injured but survived the incident.
Neilia was a teacher and her death occurred six weeks after Biden’s election to the US Senate.
The couple got married on August 27, 1966.
