Why singer Jelly Roll stopped concert mid-show

MIDLAND, Michigan (WJW) – Country star Jelly Roll is cementing his reputation as an artist who appreciates his fans.

During a performance at the Tailgate N’ Tallboys festival on Thursday in Midland, Michigan, he paused his show to acknowledge a particularly dedicated fan.

The 39-year-old artist, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, was performing in front of a crowd of approximately 15,000 at the event when he noticed a woman in the front row with an IV drip.

In a clip shared on TikTok, Jelly Roll halted his performance to address the crowd. “First of all, there is a young lady right here in the front of the crowd — where’s my camera guy at? Where’s my man?” he said, urging the camera operator to capture the moment for the audience.

“This young lady is out here with a full-blown IV,” he continued, expressing his amazement. The crowd cheered as Jelly Roll asked the woman if she was a cancer survivor, to which she confirmed.

Jelly Roll then directed his stage crew to provide the fan with a more comfortable experience.

“Somebody on my team. Let’s get her somewhere comfortable for the rest of the show. We’ll get you off your feet, baby, okay?” he said.

The gesture was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.
