WME Fashion Reveals Programming for New York Fashion Week

WME Fashion has released its slate of programming for New York Fashion Week from Friday to Sept. 11. This season, WME Fashion will continue to facilitate collaborations and partnerships, and produce fashion shows, consumer experiences, tastemaker dinners and events.

This month, the group will partner with Vêtir, an AI-driven smart shopping, styling and digital closet app, and Hudson Yards. Vêtir’s new store on the first floor of The Shops at Hudson Yards will feature designers curated by WME Fashion, allowing consumers to shop the runway during fashion month. Vêtir and WME Fashion will also bring designer runway shows to Hudson Yards this month, with Jason Wu in the Hudson Yards Plaza, Simkhai at The Edge, Zankov at Reserve Padel, and Grace Ling at 10 Hudson Yards. As part of the collaboration, New York designers showing at Hudson Yards will use Vêtir’s patented shoppable video technology to make NYFW a real-time shoppable experience.

As part of the programming, NYFW: The Talks will take place throughout the week at The Shops and will be open to the public on a first come, first served basis. Programming includes Dr. Jonathan Leary discussing wellness in the fashion industry, and The Wall Group stylists Tiffany Reid and Solange Franklin joining Vêtir founder and chief executive officer Kate Davidson Hudson for a talk on the power of styling.

Celebrating its 17th year as the official hair care partner of New York Fashion Week, Tresemmé’s Style Studios will be open on the first floor of The Shops at Hudson Yards. During the week, visitors can stop by the salon for complimentary hair styling appointments and photographs.

This season, Focus is working with brands 3.1 Phillip Lim, Delpozo, Grace Ling, Jason Wu, John Varvatos, Proenza Schouler, Simkhai, Tibi, Toteme and Wiederhoeft. This will be Toteme’s first season showing in New York.

For a new experience this season, WME Fashion has partnered with Capital One Dining and the Michelin Guide to host an insider dinner on the runway, prepared by Michelin-recognized chef Telly Justice of Hags, following the Jackson Widerhoeft show. Eligible Capital One cardholders are being offered premium seats to the show and a chance to learn about Widerhoeft’s inspiration behind the collection, while experiencing the looks up close during the exclusive dinner. Tickets can be purchased on Capital One Dining’s website.

In celebration of The Armory Show and NYFW, WME Fashion and Frieze will partner to host an evening honoring women of color in art and fashion. The cocktail reception will bring together key industry leaders and the next generation of talent, offering a chance to network.

For the fourth season, WME Fashion is partnering with Black Beauty Roster, a diversity, equity and inclusion platform connecting the fashion, entertainment an beauty industries with diverse beauty professionals while providing education to the broader industry.

WME Fashion will support the 2024 Black Beauty Roster Excellence Luncheon, which will be hosted on Friday. At the luncheon, the BBR will recognize industry leaders with Legacy, Creator, Trailblazer, AllyShip and Pioneer Awards. Prior to NYFW, BBR hosted a free masterclass with hairstylist Jawara at the WME Fashion offices to help educate hairstylists on working with all textures.

On Location will continue to offer fashion fans premium access to runway shows and experiences through NYFW: The Experience. Tickets can be purchased to select runway shows including Bach Mai, Badgley Mischka, Bibhu Mohapatra, Christian Cowan, Cucculelli Shaheen, Gigi Burris, Jonathan Cohen, Libertine, Private Policy, Sergio Hudson and Simkhai online.

The official programming schedule for NYFW September 2024 is live online, complementing the Official NYFW Schedule released by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, in partnership with WME Fashion.

IMG said in May it was making big changes in its operation of NYFW. It said it would pivot from producing a centralized venue for NYFW: The Shows to concentrating its efforts on facilitating brand partnerships and creative collaborations between brands and designers. Those efforts look to provide tailored support that aligns with designers’ needs year-round.
