A young mother of four girls, Riekens documents her weight loss routines and takeaways on her Instagram account. In one of her reels, she shared how one type of diet routine worked best for her among all the other lifestyle changes she adopted.

Since her teenage years she has been struggling with health issues. However, today she stands tall as a fit individual with an empowering weight loss transformation. According to Daily Star report, Kassidy battled borderline anorexia, obesity during her teens. Later she also struggled with alcoholism. “In high school, at 5’6” (167.6 cm) and just 7.6st (48.5 kg), I was borderline anorexic. Staying thin was all that mattered, so I ate as little as possible and pushed myself to work out constantly,” Riekens says. At 21, she had gained nearly 45 kgs and weighed 117 kg by the time her first daughter Harley was born.

After all the support from her husband and her will to improve towards a healthy lifestyle, she lost 59 kgs in one and half years. However, with her pregnancies, she gained and lost weight accordingly.

Weight Loss Diet to Reduce Fat

In one of her posts, she talks about low carb and high protein diet and why it worked for her. Her caption reads, “I have done it ALL. Carbs, keto, low carb, high protein, less food, more food, cardio, weight lifting, HIIT, meal prepping, counting calories or macros, intuitive eating, really strict, really laid back, etc, etc!…But during this specific phase of my journey… lower carb & high protein is what makes me FEEL best and tends to WORK best for me…(sic)”

Reasons for Kassidy’s choice fo low carb-high protein diet :

  • Reduced inflammation and arthritis pain

Later, Kassidy was also diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.

Today, Kassidy is a certified fitness trainer and nutrition coach. It all started for her will to lead a better, happy and healthy life with her family. She continued: “I realised that motivating people, sharing my lifestyle, and doing my best to inspire someone in some way was something I wanted to do, so I started sharing my story. I want others to realise that despite the struggles, you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it. People think they’re limited when they’re not. The sky’s the limit,” she concluded.
