Ten-year-old Freya Pokarier remains in Westmead Hospital in Sydney after the crash near Dubbo on February 15 that claimed the life her 16-year-old sister, Mieka.

They were in a car that is believed to have hit a semi-trailer head-on.

Mieka, the front-seat passenger, died at the scene while Freya, who was in the back, was flown to hospital. Their driver sustained minor injuries.

Freya has been taken out of intensive care and moved into a rehabilitation ward, her mother wrote in the latest update on a GoFundMe page.

“We are yet to see her beautiful eyes open,” she wrote.

“She moves her left arm a lot and brings it up to her face now. She has sighed, yawned and hiccupped and this morning she moved her head side to side.

“She’s currently peacefully snoring as we type this, even though she used to argue with mum that she didn’t.”

She said Freya’s movements “are exciting and bring hopes of progress”.

Hospital staff have taken her outside the building when she “seemed to love the wind blowing in her face” and she has had her hair washed and braided by a “wonderful friend”.

The mum also paid further tribute to Mieka, saying her death “leaves behind so very many hearts which will forever be missing a giant piece”.

Freya underwent brain surgery and was placed into a medically-induced coma after the crash that occurred when they were travelled to Melbourne for one of Swift’s recent The Eras Tour shows.

7NEWS understands Swift was told about the crash.

Tributes poured in for Mieka after the devastating crash. One friend called her a “beacon of light” and a “life taken too soon”.

NSW Police have not provided further details about the crash since the initial information in the hours following, when they announced an investigation was underway.
