Justin Bieber worries fans as he breaks down in tears, Hailey responds

Fans were left worried after Justin Bieber uploaded a few selfies of himself crying to his Instagram.

The pics were part of a carousel of images that also showed the Canadian pop star performing live onstage and also included a shot of Bieber’s Toronto Maple Leafs pal Auston Matthews and a bowl of marijuana leaves.

But the photos of him crying as he wore a light green bucket hat and white zip-up sweatshirt sparked concern among his 293 million followers, with many flooding the comments section to ask if he was doing alright.

“Why u crying tho 😭,” one fan commented as another added, “I hope you are doing okay, I hate to see tears running down your face 💔.”

“I love that you’re not afraid to show your vulnerability and emotions. It’s always great to remember that behind every single celebrities, there’s still a human being. YOU ARE LOVED,” a third fan wrote.

After Bieber’s post went viral, his wife, Hailey Bieber, downplayed the crying photos.

“A pretty crier 

,” Hailey, 27, commented.

Bieber’s pics was preceded by a set of images that showed him smiling and was followed by one of the Maple Leafs’ team logo (the team is on the brink of elimination in its opening round playoff series against the Boston Bruins), so there were no signs he was suffering an emotional breakdown and the images were likely just part of a massive photo dump.

But he and Hailey have been besieged by rumours that their marriage is on the rocks in recent weeks.

“There’s no divorce and no truth to that whatsoever. They are very, very happy,” a source told PEOPLE earlier this month.

“There were growing pains in the beginning, but they’re in a good place now,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in February. “Communication is key, and they’ve found that continuing therapy even when everything’s great is useful.”

Hailey also dispelled critics questioning the status of their relationship, which included her own father, Stephen Baldwin, who asked fans to pray for the couple.

“Just FYI the stories and constant ‘blind items’ I see on TikTok are 100% of the time wrong Made out of thin air… Come from the land of delusion …” Hailey wrote in an Instagram Story in March. “So I know it may be fun feeding into these stories but just know they’re always false xx sorry to spoil it.”

Hailey has previously spoken about the “work” the pair have put into their relationship amid such intense scrutiny.

“I just think life is changing all the time,” Hailey told Harper’s Bazaar in August 2022. “Day to day, week to week, year to year. … You have to figure out how to deal with this s*** as it comes, you know? There’s a reason they say ‘for better or for worse.’ Like, that’s for real! At the end of the day, like, he’s my best friend, but it still does take a lot of work to make it work.”

Still, the crying pics come after a newly resurfaced video showed Bieber, 30, hanging out with Sean “Diddy” Combs when he was just 15 years old. The old clip went viral after two of the embattled rapper’s properties were raided following sex trafficking allegations.

In the 2009 video, captioned “JUSTIN BIEBER’s 48 HRS with DIDDY!!,” the Peaches singer and the Bad Boy Records founder talk about their wild itinerary as they plan to spend 48 hours together.

“I told you guys I produced a song for DIDDY and I wanted to show it to him and you got his attention. Best fans in the world. Well this past weekend I spent 48 HRS with DIDDY and had some fun. Here is some of the action. Thanks for the car PUFF…haha,” Bieber wrote, describing himself as a “small town kid from Stratford ON.” At the time, Combs would have been 40 years old, while Bieber was just 15.

Combs starts the two-minute-plus video by telling Bieber, he’ll let him drive his Lamborghini when he turns 16.

“You ever seen the movie 48 Hrs? Right now (Justin is) having 48 hours with Diddy, him and his boy,” Combs said, as a wide-eyed Bieber looked on. “They’re having the times of their lives.”

As a smiling Bieber stood by his side, Combs continued, saying the pair’s plans are top secret.

“Where we hanging out and what we’re doing we can’t really disclose. But it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream,” Combs said. “For the next 48 hours, he’s with me. And we’re gonna go full. Buck full crazy.”

Combs then asked Bieber what he wanted to do.

“Let’s just go get some girls,” Bieber replied.

“Man after my heart,” Combs responding. “That’s what I’m talking about.”
