7th Pay Commission: With the latest revised allowances, the government employees can now claim the CEA/Hostel Subsidy for the two elder surviving children and the amount of CEA will be Rs 2250 per month.
7th Pay Commission News: After the recent DA hike, the Centre now has revised six key allowances for the Central government employees. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) in this regard has issued instructions on allowances for the central government employees.
Notably, the Central government employees from time to time receive various allowances to compensate for rosing inflation, housing, transportation, education, healthcare and travel expenses, among others. This is being given apart from the regular DA hike.
List of Six Revised Allowances
- Children Education Allowance
- Risk Allowance
- Night Duty Allowance (NDA)
- Over Time Allowance (OTA)
- Special Allowance Payable to Parliament Assistants
- Special Allowance for Child Care for Women with Disabilities.
Children Education Allowance (CEA)
As per the notice from the Centre, the government employees can claim the CEA/Hostel Subsidy for the two elder surviving children and the amount of CEA will be Rs 2250 per month per child and the amount of hostel subsidy will Rs 6750 per month.
As per the 7th CPC norms, the4 Centre has also revised the reimbursement of CEA for Divyang Children. Now, you can claim up to Rs. 4500 per month.
Risk Allowance
The Centre also revised the risk allowance, which is being provided to employees involved in hazardous duties or whose work will have a deleterious effect on health, will not be treated as “Pay” for any purpose.
Night Duty Allowance (NDA)
The Centre has also revised the night duty allowance for the Central government employees and said in the notice that it will be defined as duty performed between 22:00 hours and 6:00 hours and the ceiling of basic pay for entitlement of NDA will be Rs 43600 per month.
Over Time Allowance (OTA)
In the notification, the Centre said it has revised the Over Time Allowance and said the ministry will prepare a list of those staff coming under the category of ‘Operational Staff’.
Special Allowance to Parliament Assistants
The Centre in the notification said the rates of Special Allowance payable will now be enhanced for those wholly engaged in Parliament work during Parliament session. The allowance has been enhanced by 50% from the existing levels of Rs 1500 and Rs 1200 to Rs 2250 and Rs 1800.
Special Allowance for Childcare for Women with Disabilities
In the notification, the Centre said it been decided that women with disabilities will be paid at Rs 3000 per month on Special Allowance for childcare. The Centre further stated that the allowance will be paid from the birth of the child till he/she is two years old.
