Apple Watch: Why it may not be a good idea to purchase Apple Watch from the US, Canada

Apple has launched its latest-generation Apple Watch, Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2. While Apple Watch Series 9 is priced at Rs 41,900, Apple Watch Ultra 2 at Rs 89,900. The prices of Apple devices in India are high compared to some other countries like the US, Canada, Dubai, China and Hong Kong. Due to this, many Apple fans get Apple devices from other countries. However, if you are looking for a GPS + Cellular model of Apple Watch, remember it is a bad idea to get it from the US.
Apple Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 come in two models: GPS-only and GPS + Cellular. The difference between these two models is that the latter will enable wearers to take calls directly from their wrists and they do not have to carry their phones around. Apple Watch GPS + Cellular lets you use your smartwatch independently of your iPhone for functions such as receiving messages and emails, listening to music and podcasts, and finding your way using Siri and Maps. In simple words, adding Cellular connectivity means that Apple Watch users can use your Watch just as you would your phone.
Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 price comparison
The Apple Watch models sold in countries such as the US, Canada, China and Hong Kong surely cost less than what they are priced in India. Here are the prices of Apple Watch Series 9 Aluminium variant (41mm) GPS + Cellular model in different countries.

Country Price (Local Currency) Price (Equivalent in Rupees with latest conversion rates)

India Starts at Rs 51,900
Hong Kong Starts at HK$ 3,999 Approx Rs 42,401

What may be the ‘problem’
Each country has its own set of cellular bands in that country and these bands are responsible for providing cellular connectivity. The number and frequency of bands offered in these countries may be different from India. In India, this could mean that the service provided on Apple Watches purchased from these countries may either be broken or not as smooth as they are in that particular country.
When checked on Apple’s support page, we found a little difference in support bands in these countries.
