Bank Holiday Alert: As per the bank holiday calendar issued by the RBI, banks will remain shut in various cities on Mat 1 on account of Labour Day and Maharashtra Day. because of these two occasions, banks will remain closed in Belapur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh & Telangana), Imphal, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna and Thiruvananthapuram.

For the general information, May 1 is observed as Maharashtra Day in honour of the formation of Maharashtra in India. The day also marks the anniversary of the day in 1960 when the state was officially formed after reorganising states on linguistic lines.
