Brisbane young gun Darcy Wilmot requires a microwave for his unique pre-game routine.
Channel 7 cameras uncovered Wilmot tucking into a 90-second microwaved egg-rice snack ahead of Thursday night’s game against Melbourne.
The 20-year-old does it before every game he plays.

“This is his pre-game routine. He must have a microwave at any venue he travels to around the country,” commentator Abbey Holmes said.
“This is egg fried rice, a little bit of a nasi goreng kind of vibe. Has to do it.”
Former Collingwood and Carlton champion Dale Thomas recounted how his pre-game meal was stopped by the club dietician.
“Surely will be asking for some kind of sponsorship,” Thomas said of Wilmot’s ritual.
“I used to have mac and cheese the night before until Mark Howard came out to be a piece of the Rising Star and the dietician saw it and that was the last time I was ever able to have it.”
Geelong great Joel Selwood was a little shocked by the young Lion’s habit.
“I was a bit of a pasta man before games … but not rocking up to a game bringing my own microwave for food,” he said.
Holmes then explained how she used to wear two pairs of socks and always had to put the left side on first before playing a game.
Wilmot has cemented his place in the Lions’ backline after famously making his debut in the 2022 finals series.
He hasn’t missed a game since his debut with Thursday night’s clash against Melbourne is 33rd in a row.
