Channel 7 sports presenter Abbey Gelmi has quietly announced her engagement to former AFL star Kane Lambert ahead of the Brownlow Medal on Monday night.
Gelmi, who is among the presenters for Channel 7 for the AFL’s night of nights, posted a picture of her outfit on social media.
She posted five photos of herself with the fourth and fifth revealing a brand new engagement ring on her left hand.

Friends and fans were quick to spot the detail and make comment.
“Just waiting for everyone to notice the ring,” Tayla Broad, wife of Richmond player Nathan Broad, wrote.
“Booooom 🔥 💗 💍 hard launch 🚀 xxxx,” another person added.
“Looking incredible!!! … and a huge congratulations on your engagement!!!!! 👏👏👏” fashion designer oglialorocouture wrote.
“Wowowowowowwwwwww 💕💕💕💕💕💍💍💍💍” fellow Channel 7 presenter Estelle Griepink said.
The pair welcomed their first child into the world earlier this year.
Baby boy Louis was born on March 8.
“Louis James Lambert came into the world 8.3.23 🌎🤍 Our hearts are so full,” Gelmi wrote on Instagram.
“Everyone happy, healthy and settling in at home.
“So grateful.”
Lambert – who retired last year – played 135 games for the Tigers, including the 2017, 2019 and 2020 premierships.
The 31-year-old also finished second in Richmond’s 2018 best and fairest and third in 2017.
Having been overlooked in six drafts, Lambert didn’t make it to AFL level until the age of 23 with pick No.46 in the 2015 rookie draft.
An ongoing hip issue forced him to hang up the boots, but he remains at the club as a conditioning coach.
