Vande Bharat: A new Vande Bharat train will soon become operational between Bihar’s Bhagalpur and Howrah in West Bengal. The inter-city Vande Bharat train, which has eight coaches, will run six days a week, and will NOT operate on Tuesdays from Howrah and Wednesdays from Bhagalpur.

Timing:

The semi-high speed Vande Bharat train will depart from the Bhagalpur station everyday (except Tuesday) at 6:15 AM and reach the Howrah station at 2:25 PM, covering a distance of 439.57 kilometers in 7:30 hours.

In Howrah, the Vande Bharat train will leave at 1:30 PM and reach Bhagalpur at 9:55 PM. The train will operate from Howrah for six days a week, except Wednesday, officials said.

Stoppages:

From Bhagalpur, the Vande Bharat train will reach the Sahibganj station and Baharwa at 7:28 AM and 8:15 AM respectively, where after a brief halt at these stations, it will head towards its final destination, Howrah, moving via Azimganj, Katwa, and Naudeepdham.

Is there a sleeper coach?

No, according to officials, there is no sleeper berths on this train and only chair car coaches are available on this Vande Bharat train route.

When will Bhagalpur-Howrah Vande Bharat Train become operational?

The Bhagalpur-Howrah Vande Bharat Train is expected to become operational after the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Railway authorities have said the Vande Bharat train will also run on the Sahibganj-Bhagalpur-Jamalpur-Kiul railway section.

Additionally,  two more Vande Bharat Metro trains will also operate along with Vande Bharat, and an operational report has been sought in this regard from the Railway Board, officials said.

Vande Metro trains to run on THESE routes

Three Vande Bharat Metro trains will also run from Jamalpur to Malda, Bhagalpur-Howrah and Bhagalpur-Deoghar via Bhagalpur, according to an operational report  sent to the Railway Board from the Eastern Railway headquarters.

Notably, the maximum possible speed of trains on Malda-Sahibganj-Bhagalpur-Kiul railway section is 110-130 kilometers per hour, according to the operational report.
