LIV Golf Adelaide is back for its second instalment this weekend and you can watch all the action live and free on Channel 7 and 7plus.

After the success of last year’s debut tournament, this year’s edition promises to be even bigger and better with crowd capacity increased by 50 per cent to about 120,000 over the three rounds.

This year’s star-studded field features Aussie superstar Cam Smith, as well as former world No.1s John Rahm, Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka.

The course

The Grange Golf Course in Adelaide is a picturesque course situated close to the ocean and not far from central Adelaide.

It is often listed as one of Australia’s top golf courses and was recently redesigned by LIV Golf Commissioner and Australian great Greg Norman. Norman captured his first professional title at the Grange in 1976, winning the West Lakes Classic.

The par three 12th ‘party hole’ (also known as the ‘Watering Hole’) is back again after its incredible debut last year, which featured an incredible ace by Chase Koepka.

Aussies in action

The all-Australian ‘Ripper GC’ team includes British Open champion Cameron Smith, Marc Leishman, Matt Jones and Lucas Herbert, who replaced Jediah Morgan for this year.

The 28-year-old Herbert has heard stories of the Adelaide vibe from his Ripper teammates and can’t wait to tee off

“There’s never been a bad comment about it,” Herbert said.

“If you look at something like (US PGA Tour’s Phoenix) Waste Management Open, there’s a few guys that think that goes too far, there’s some people think that it gets too crazy.

“Whereas, as insane as this event was last year, no one said anything bad about it.

“Everyone said it was just a great time – the fans were amazing but still respectful, everyone had an amazing time, somewhat of a party.”

Prize money

The total prize pool is $US25 million ($A37 million) with the winner taking home $US4 million ($A5.9 million) and the winning team sharing $US3 million ($A4 million).

There are no cuts in LIV Golf so every player gets a share of the prize pool.

Every event has the same structure with the same payout.
