Geelong premiership hero Tom Lonergan surprised his former teammates during the half-time break of the Cats’ clash with the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night.
Channel 7 commentator and former Geelong skipper Cameron Ling was interviewing another former Cats captain in Joel Selwood during the long break when they spotted a familiar face.
Lonergan had a red vest on and was involved in the kids’ Auskick program.

Ling and Selwood were completely caught off guard by the sight of their 2011 premiership teammate on the ground.
“I noticed something in the half-time break. NAB Auskickers, that’s a familiar face?” Ling asked Selwood.
Selwood replied: “It is. He knew his way around this ground pretty well, Tom Lonergan. Not sure what he is teaching the kids, I’m sure he is in good hands.”
Selwood, who retired last year after leading Geelong to the premiership, will be on Channel 7’s new show, Talking Finals.

In a coup for football fans, three-time premiership captain Trent Cotchin will join the team, alongside Essendon legend and 7NEWS Melbourne’s Tim Watson.
7NEWS AFL reporter Mitch Cleary will also update viewers on the trade and free agency market with a dedicated segment each week.
“Going to be on there with Trent Cotchin. Played a lot of grand finals. Tim Watson and JB will hold us together. We will take you on the inside of what we went through,” Selwood said.
“Each final is different. The first final is completely different to the second and third. We hope that you sit back and enjoy it.”
