India’s Critical Minerals Summit ends with a focus on collaboration

New Delhi: The Critical Minerals Summit 2024, organised by the Ministry of Mines in collaboration with various other organisations, concluded on a note of strategic collaboration and policy insights.

The summit was held in New Delhi on 30 April 2024, and it provided a platform for bringing together government and industry stakeholders to discuss and deliberate on the future of India’s critical minerals sector.

The Critical Minerals Summit 2024, organised by the Ministry of Mines in collaboration with various other organisations, has finally concluded on a note of strategic collaboration and policy insights. The Ministry of Mines emphasised the importance of both domestic and international efforts in securing the critical minerals supply chain, enhancing skill development in India, and focusing on critical minerals recycling.

Dr. Veena Kumari Dermal, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Mines, delivered the closing remarks of the summit, outlining the key findings and future directions. She emphasised the need for strengthening the domestic mining industry and improving the extraction of critical minerals to support India’s economic growth and sustainability objectives.

The summit emphasised the need for a cluster-based approach to promote synergies in mineral extraction, refining, and end-use, especially for low-carbon technologies.

The discussion also focused on the importance of regulatory certainty, financing frameworks, and ESG standards in attracting investors.
