Almost a month after viral Reddit posts claimed that the actress is pregnant with her second child, a report from Hindustan Times suggests that the rumours might just be true. The report states that the actress could already be in her second trimester.
An alleged source has reportedly confirmed to the portal that the mother of one is currently expecting her second baby and will make the announcement in a similar fashion to her first pregnancy. It is allegedly because of this that the actress has actively been staying away from the public eye.
The report also stated that the pregnancy could be a reason why the star is not travelling with her husband on his cricket tours.
Furthermore, the report states that Anushka was spotted at a maternity clinic in Mumbai, but at the actress’s request, the paparazzi did not publish the photos. Kohli and Anushka also reportedly “promised” to make an announcement soon.
Rumors of Anushka’s pregnancy have been circulating on Reddit for quite a while. The virtual world first began buzzing about the actress’ pregnancy back in August. However, fans chose to ‘respect’ the actress’ privacy and decided not to discuss it on public platforms.
The star’s recent photoshoot for a sporting brand later that same month seemed to douse speculation about her pregnancy as she posed for the shoot, baring her toned midriff. For the shoot, Anushka did wear her shorts high enough to cover her belly but had no qualms showing off her ripped abs under a jacket.
“Anushka Sharma in a new Puma Photoshoot. So rumours about pregnancy seem fake,” read the post.
Early this September, another gossip page on Reddit confirmed the actress’s pregnancy but held back on the details to allow the happy parents to make the announcement. “Guys, Anushka Sharma is pregnant… will not give any proof, just wait for the announcement from them…”
News of Sharma’s second pregnancy comes as she awaits the release of her sports film, Chakda’Xpress, where she will be seen playing the role of former Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
Sharma, who married Kohli in 2017, recently opened up about becoming a mother and also shared details about her work life after the birth of daughter Vamika.
In a candid interview with Grazia, Anushka gushed about motherhood, saying, “It has internally made me a far more self-assured individual – I feel I’m way more confident as a person. It’s a very real thing, caring for another human – and putting the child first in everything. I want to mention this – that it’s so important to have this connect with your child. I’m so hands-on and I do everything for her, and I enjoy doing it, so the bond is very special. I feel that she’s turning into a secure individual, and I’m happy about that.”
