The incident took place when Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel was preaching at the church.
The police authorities said that a large number of people were injured in the stabbing adding that officers arrested a male and he is assisting police with inquiries.

The attacker was shot dead by a police officer after he engaged with nine people in the busy Westfield Bondi Junction shopping centre.
According to the reports, a man, armed with a knife, had allegedly stabbed four people before encountering police intervention.
