Indian auto manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra recently revealed multiple information about the upcoming Thar electric, Global Pik up and upcoming electric SUVs at its ‘Futurescape’ event in Cape Town, South Africa. The company revealed the launch timelines, powertrain and battery details of the four of the upcoming electric SUVs. The company also revealed a new ‘infinity’ version of its logo, specific to this range of electric SUVs.

In this article, let’s take a look at the launch timeline and additional information on the XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07 electric SUVs.
Mahindra XUV.e8 – December 2024

The first vehicle which will be launched under Mahindra’s electric revolution is the XUV.e8. The electric SUV will be launched by December 2024 and is essentially the electric version of the ICE XUV 700. The silhouette of the XUV.e8 looks similar to the XUV 700. It gets a closed front grille with vertical slats and sleek LED headlamps with DRLs. It also gets aerodynamically designed alloy wheels with copper-coloured highlights. The XUV.e8 will be based on Mahindra’s new INGLO modular platform which can accommodate battery packs of 60kWh and 80kWh.
Mahindra XUV.e9 – April 2025

The next EV SUV on the list is Mahindra XUV.e9 which is scheduled to be launched by April 2025. The XUV.e9 is based on an all-new INGLO platform developed in collaboration with German Automaker, Volkswagen. The XUV.e9 gets a coupe-like design and will measure 4,790mm in length, 1,905mm in width, 1,690mm in height and will have a wheelbase of 2,775mm.
Mahindra BE.05 – October 2025
Next on the line is the Mahindra BE.05 which will be launched by October 2025. The BE.05 is expected to be the first product to be launched under the company’s BE (Born Electric) range of electric SUVs.

In terms of design, it gets a sculpted bonnet design with large C-shaped LED daytime running lights with headlights at the front. The BE.05 will be based on the company’s dedicated EV platform called ‘INGLO’. It is expected to be powered by a 60 kWh battery pack offering a range of up to 450 km on a single charge. The new platform is claimed to support a power output of up to 335 hp with a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup.
Mahindra BE.07 – October 2026
The last EV on the lineup is the Mahindra BE.07 stated to be launched by October 2026. The BE.07 too is based on the INGLO EV platform and gets a sleek and futuristic design. The EV is expected to get a battery pack between 60-80 kWh and will feature a dual electric motor with AWD.
Mahindra also revealed that over some time it will electrify all the ICE brands. The Thar, Scorpio and Bolero will be electrified and will be built on the INGLO skateboard platform. The company did not reveal any details of the SUVs or the launch timeline.
