Good Friday Bank Holiday: On Good Friday, banks are closed in all states except Tripura, Assam, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Srinagar.
Good Friday Bank Holiday: Banks will remain closed on March 29 in several states on account of Good Friday as this is a significant holiday in the Christian calendar. As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday list, this bank closure leads to a total of 14 days bank holiday in March 2024. This holidays include Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays, public holidays, and various regional holidays. However, the regional holidays are decided as per states and may differ throughout the country.
Good Friday 2024: Banks Not Closed in These States
On Good Friday, banks are closed in all states except Tripura, Assam, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Srinagar. However, in all other states, banks will be closed for Good Friday.
As per the RBI holiday calendar, banks are closed for Chapchar Kut, /Sivarathri, Bihar Divas, Holi (Second Day) – Dhuleti/Dol Jatra/Dhulandi, Yaosang 2nd Day/Holi, Holi and Good Friday in March 2024.
Will Banks Remain Open on March 31?
As the fiscal year ends on March 31, the Centre has requested all bank branches handling government receipts and payments to stay open for business on March 31, the Reserve Bank of India said.
