PrettyLittleThing unveils Naomi Campbell collection ahead of NYC showcase

The previously flagged PrettyLittleThing Designed by Naomi Campbell Collection has been previewed with news that it also features designs by emerging names Victor Anate and Edvin Thompson.

PLT has called its a groundbreaking collaboration” and it’s clearly a big deal for the Boohoo-owned brand to link up with one of the world’s most famous supermodels.

It’s also interesting because of the inclusion of those two young designers. Both NYC-based, 20-year-old Anate hails from Nigeria while Jamaica-born Edvin Thompson’s Theophilio label launched in 2016 and won the CFDA award for American Emerging Designer of The Year in 2021.

Anate worked with Campbell and the PLT design team on a cutout bodycon design for party season.

Thompson, meanwhile, designed a satin off-white dress to complement the collection.

As for the other pieces, PLT said the clothes are “fun and playful and lead customers into the holiday season while projecting a sense of strength and confidence that Campbell maintains both on and off the runway”.

It added: “Expect to witness Campbell’s tailored signature jumpsuit, bold sequin designs, striking outerwear, reimagined chainmail dresses, hints of premium faux leather, and dramatic floor-length items. Cocktail dresses are embellished with velvet, dazzling sequins, and crystals, and oversized jackets are worn as fashion statements. They are all ideal for individuals looking for a taste of high fashion and a supermodel experience, as they all offer a blend of flair and exclusivity.”

It all debuts on 5 September at a showcase just ahead of New York Fashion Week and will be streamed live on YouTube. In total there are 15 looks in multiple colourways. Prices range from £10-£120/$10-$185.

Chris Parnell, Head of Design at the fashion e-tailer, said: “This collaboration with Naomi Campbell is a monumental moment for PrettyLittleThing. We are not just launching a new collection; we are making history with the most significant collaboration we’ve ever undertaken.”
