Sensex Hits All-time High Of 75,582.28, Nifty Crosses 23,000 Mark For First Time

Sensex Nifty All-time High: Equity benchmark index Sensex hit its all-time high of 75,582.28 in early trade on Friday. Meanwhile, Nifty crossed the 23,000 mark for the first time, hitting its lifetime peak of 23,004.05. Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Steel, State Bank of India, HDFC Bank, and Bharti Airtel were the major gainers at Sensex.

This performance by Sensex and Nifty comes ahead of the results of the Lok Sabha elections announcement and fresh foreign fund inflows.

The results of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections will be declared on June 4.

The 30-share BSE Sensex rose by 164.24 points, reaching an all-time high of 75,582.28 in early trading. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty increased by 36.4 points, surpassing the 23,000 level for the first time and achieving a record high of 23,004.05.

Among the Sensex companies, Bajaj Finance, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Steel, State Bank of India, HDFC Bank, and Bharti Airtel emerged as the major gainers.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services, Maruti, and JSW Steel were among the dawdlers.

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) turned buyers on Thursday after days of offloading equities buying equities worth Rs 4,670.95 crore on Thursday, according to exchange data.

In Asian markets, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong were trading lower.

Wall Street ended in negative territory on Thursday.

Global oil benchmark Brent crude climbed 0.05 percent to USD 81.40 a barrel.

“Yesterday, Nifty neared the 23,000 mark, driven by investor optimism about the current regime’s continuation in the upcoming general elections,” said Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research), Mehta Equities Ltd.

With nearly two weeks remaining until the Lok Sabha election results, benchmark stock indices Sensex and Nifty soared by more than 1.6 percent to close at record high levels on Thursday.

The BSE Sensex reclaimed the 75,000 level, closing at a record high of 75,418.04, an increase of 1,196.98 points or 1.61%. On Thursday, the NSE Nifty approached the 23,000 milestone. The 50-issue index rose by 369.85 points or 1.64% to settle at 22,967.65.
