San Francisco police responded to the scene at Valencia and 25th streets at approximately 3:17 a.m. on Oct. 23, the San Francisco Police Department told SFGATE. When officers arrived, they attempted to engage with the individual sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Then, two other individuals exited Clooney’s and got into the vehicle, according to SFPD.

“The suspect then collided into the officers’ patrol vehicle and fled from the scene in a high rate of speed,” read the emailed statement from SFPD.

No injuries were reported. Anyone with information is asked to contact SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.

“They were so loud tearing the ATM out of the ground that they woke up the neighborhood,” Clooney’s Pub owner Dan Lyons told SFGATE. The ATM was bolted into the ground, he said, and a tenant in the building called the police.

The thieves also trashed the pub’s office and broke three doors, Lyons said.

“We will probably be boarding up windows until the city is safer for everyone,” he added.

Other businesses in the area have also experienced burglaries recently. On Oct. 2, two armed men robbed Happy Donuts in Noe Valley at gunpoint and stole its ATM and cash, SFGATE reported earlier this month. Two men were charged on Oct. 12 in connection with three violent business holdups in and near the Mission District over the course of eight days, according to the San Francisco Standard

“We don’t know what we’re going to do,” Lyons said when asked if the cash-only bar plans on replacing its ATM. “There’s a good chance we won’t put it back because it seems like they target places that have them.”
