UGC NET December 2023 Registration Date Soon; Key Points On NTA Application, Exam Pattern

UGC NET December Registration 2023: The National Testing Agency(NTA) will release a detailed information bulletin along with the application form for the University Grants Commission (UGC)-National Eligibility Test (NET) December cycle anytime soon. UGC-NET is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges. Along with the information bulletin, NTA will release the UGC NET December application form. Eligible candidates can fill up the form by visiting the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

As per media reports, UGC NET application form as well as information bulletin is likely to be released in the month of September, 2023. However, this is just a tentative date. Neither NTA nor UGC Chairman has confirmed the UGC NET registration date.

UGC NET December Cycle 2023 Registration: How to Fill UGC NET Application Form?

Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate. More than one application i.e. multiple Application Forms submitted by a candidate will be rejected.

  1. Visit the official website of UGC NET 2023 at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
  2. Look for the link that reads, “UGC NET December 2023 application.”
  3. Register yourself on the portal. Note down the system generated ID and password.
  4. Fill up the application form.Upload the scanned documents.
  5. Pay the application fee. Submit the form and take a printout of it for future reference.

Before beginning the process of filling the Online Application Form, read Information Bulletin carefully, keep ready required documents and follow the following instructions:

  • Copy of Board/ University Certificate for Candidate’s Name, Mother’s Name, Father’s Name and Date of Birth/
  • Type of Identification – Bank A/c passbook with photograph/ Passport Number/ Ration Card/ Aadhaar Card Number/Voter ID Card Number/ Other Govt ID
  • Qualifying Degree Certificate or last semester marks sheet
  • Your Mailing Address as well as Permanent Address with Pin Code
  • Four cities for Centres of your choice
  • Code of NET Subject (Refer Appendix-II for Code)
  • Code of subject at Post Graduation level
  • Code of Post-Graduation Course
  • Category Certificate, if applicable
  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Certificate, if applicable
  • Person with Disability (PwD) Certificate, if applicable
  • e-mail address and Mobile Number of candidate
  • Scanned images in JPG/JPEG format only

Mode of Examination

If going by the UGC NET Information Bulletin, the competitive examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only.

Exam Pattern

  • The Test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions. There will be no break between papers.
  • The questions in Paper I intends toassess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the Candidate.
  • This is based on the subject selected by the candidate and will assess domain knowledge.
