Virat Kohli’s Animated Conversation With Gautam Gambhir Before KKR Vs RCB Tie – WATCH

Kolkata: Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir have always grabbed the headlines whenever Kolkata Knight Riders faced Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL. Stalwarts in Indian cricket, the duo once again became newsmakers on Saturday as Kohli was caught on camera having an animated conversation with Gambhir at Eden Gardens ahead of the high-voltage encounter, the video of which went viral on social media.

Going by the nature of the conversation, it looked from a distance that Kohli is complaining about something to Gambhir. Besides their game, both Gambhir and Kohli stole the limelight when they engaged in a verbal spat during one of the matches in IPL 2023. The magnitude of the heated argument between the two was so high that it became one of the most controversial moments in the history of IPL.

However, things have changed over the course of time as the duo solved their issues and hugged each other during KKR’s visit to M Chinnaswamy stadium earlier in IPL 2024. As far as the game is concerned, both teams are at different ends in the points table. While KKR are placed quite comfortably at points table with four wins from five games RCB are languishing at the bottom with just one win from seven games. Another loss for RCB on Sunday will virtually knock them out of playoffs race.

In the previous encounter between the two teams in the season, KKR won the game by seven wickets, thanks to a collective effort from batters Phil Salt (30), Sunil Narine (47), Venkatesh Iyer (50) and captain Shreyas Iyer (39 not out). For RCB, Kohli himself 83 not out from 53 balls, including four fours and four sixes. As far as the head to head stats are concerned, KKR have edge over RCB.  Both teams have engaged in 33 IPL encounters over the years with KKR winning 19 of them. RCB won in 14 games.
