Watch: ‘Influencer’ uses Punjab Police’s Mahindra Scorpio to make IG reel, SHO suspended

Social media ‘influencers’ know no bounds to create ‘content’ for their Instagram handles and often find themselves in a bad situation, sometimes by breaking traffic laws and at times, by putting others into trouble. A recent such matter has surfaced on the internet, in which a social media influencer is using a Punjab Police Mahindra Scorpio to make an Instagram reel.
The video shows a young woman sitting on the bonnet of the SUV and dancing to a Punjabi song. She goes on to throw abusive gestures to the camera while still on the Punjab Police vehicle. The Punjab Police has taken strict action against SHO Ashok Sharma, suspending him from his duties as he allowed the ‘content creator’ to create a reel on a government vehicle.

Reportedly, after having received backlash on social media, the youngster has deleted the video from her Instagram account. Also, there was no action taken against her as she appeared to have taken permission from the SHO before she started shooting the video.
In recent times, we have seen several cases where the law enforcement departments have taken strict actions against such miscreants, thanks to vigilant monitoring of social media videos and a widespread CCTV network, especially in the metro cities. Often, in order to gather a few likes and views, social media users tend to break laws, put their lives on the line, and in the most unfortunate cases, become a threat to other motorists on the road.

Although the SUV wasn’t moving in this case, we have lately seen youngsters laying down on the bonnets of moving cars to create content for social media. The government is taking stricter measures to curb such violations and make the roads safer for everyone.
