Celebrities who are likely to be part of the opening ceremony of the World Cup are Asha Bhosle and Shreya Ghoshal along with Arijit Singh, who had participated in the closing ceremony of the previous World Cup.There is also buzz that Shankar Mahadevan could be performing at the ceremony to be held at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.
The Bollywood quotient expected at the event includes Varun Dhawan, Ranveer Singh and Tamannaah Bhatia. Obviously, the captains of all the 10 competing teams will be attending the ceremony. Also, the first match of World Cup will be played between England and New Zealand. It will be played at the same stadium on October 5.
Insiders have revealed that other highlights of the ceremony will also include a showcasing of Gujarati culture. Before the grand opening, all 10 team captains are scheduled to arrive in Ahmedabad on October 3, reportedly. While the matches are set to begin from October 5, the opening ceremony will take place on October 4, so that not much time is wasted on the match day and the grand opening festivities can also take their own time.
