MacBook Pro: Apple may launch new MacBook Pro, iMac later this month

It looks like Apple may not be done with its major product announcements for 2023. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the Cupertino-based tech giant is readying for another product launch. In his weekly newsletter, Gurman said that the iMacs and MacBook Pros are in short supply — both online as well as at retail stores. “New models may be coming soon: the company is likely planning a Mac related launch event at the end of this month,” said Gurman.
He also touched on MacBook models being out of stock or facing shipment delays. “The high-end configurations of the MacBook Pro and several configs and colours of the iMac are sold out/seeing massive shipment delays at Apple, Amazon, Best Buy and elsewhere heading into the holidays,” said Gurman in a tweet. He also said that last time “Apple earnings were in November was after an Oct 30 launch event” — indicating that new Macs could be announced on October 30 or October 31.
Apple has scheduled an earnings call on November 2, where the company will reveal how the previous quarter was in terms of financials, sales among other things.

iMac, MacBook Pro: What to expect

Apple had launched the 24-inch iMac in 2021 with an all-new design as well as a M1 chip. It has been over two years, so it does make sense for Apple to upgrade the iMac. However, it remains to be seen whether Apple also debuts the M3 chip or powers the upcoming iMac with the existing M2 chips. Since the iMac didn’t get the M2 chip, we may not see the M3 chip in the rumoured iMac.
As far as the MacBook Pro is concerned, it will be interesting to see what iteration Apple brings to its laptops. Apple had launched the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models in January 2023 with M2 chips.
