With speculations running rife over a few spots, it is going to be interesting to see who finally misses out and who makes it.
Mumbai: We are roughly three weeks away from the deadline of the submission of the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in USA and the West Indies. With speculations running rife over a few spots, it is going to be interesting to see who finally misses out and who makes it. Without a doubt, Rohit Sharma would be leading the side. There are massive speculations over who opens with him – will it be left-hander Yashasvi Jaiswal or the right-handed classy Shubman Gill?
Probably, it will all boil down to who performs better at the ongoing IPL. After that World No. 1 T20 batter Suryakumar Yadav walks in at No. 3, he would probably be followed by Virat Kohli. There are a number of options for the wicketkeepers slot. But, on requirement, Rishabh Pant may make it to the side. Pant will have competition from Dhruv Jurel, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson. If Pant plays in the XI, one of the above three would be the reserve keeper.
The allrounders would be Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube and Rabindra Jadeja. Rinku Singh will play as the finisher. The specialist spinners are going to be Kuldeep Yadav. Ravi Bishnoi stands and outside chance of making it to the squad as the specialist reserve spinner.
The pace battery is likely to feature Jasprit Bumrah, Mayank Yadav, Arshdeep Singh.
